2 slices whole-wheat bread into 1/2 cup milk
When moist, add and mix well:
1 egg
1 or 2 shredded or coarsely chopped onions
1 minced clove garlic
1 and 1/2 pounds ground turkey (or, if you eat it, lean ground beef)
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/4 teaspoon each basil and freshly ground pepper
I often add 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, a grated carrot, or 1/2 cup or so fresh or frozen peas
Mix thoroughly, preferably with fingertips; mold into a loaf in a shallow baking dish or pack into a greased loaf pan;
sprinkle with paprika, bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour, or until 180 degrees.
You know you lost Corey at Step One, and me at the word "moist". Oh well, it's $20 burgers for us!
ReplyDeleteOooh - I like the "sprinkle with paprika" part. It always makes things look so pretty to have paprika sprinkled on them. I'm not even sure what paprika actually tastes like, but I love its color. But PEAS? You have got to be smoking something up there in Massachusetts.
ReplyDeleteDear Haters,
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time you posted on this blog?????? Just asking . . .
TOUCHE. If you had sampled the crap I have been feeding my family lately, you would be HORRIFIED. It has certainly not been blog-worthy.
ReplyDeleteOuch. Okay, BRISTOL. I'll post tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNow Alicia, you know I won't get pop references. However, I am appalled that you might be referring to me as Palin's daughter. Ew. But why, is the question . . .
ReplyDeleteOh, just a wink at how she called anyone who said anything critical about her dancing, a "hater".
